Pink elephant, oh my!

Once again, Fark.com has brought me some fascinating news. A baby elephant in Botswana was recently spotted by a photographer and it's pink! Thats right, the cliche of pink elephants is real.

Supposedly, it is a rare phenomenon among African elephants. The baby elephant, now about 2 or 3 months, is an albino, giving it a pinkish color skin and different hue of eyes. However, it is kind of sad because scientists say that because the elephant doesn't have the same thick dark skin as the others, it is at risk for severe sunburning.

They think the only way it will be able to protect itself is to roll around in thick mud or stay in shade. Hopefully this lovely little pink elephant will be okay. Check out the link for pictures, they're pretty dang cute.
