Bad Idea

In Portland, Oregon, they take their pranks to extremes. At an art framing warehouse in Portland, a boss and his co-workers were filming a very realistic prank.

The employer apparently pretended to shoot his employee, who then pretended to bleed all over himself for a joke. Another co-worker, who did not know it was just a joke, then climbed two barbed wire fences and ran to call 911 thinking that the murder he just witnessed was real.
Police then came swarming into the warehouse and obviously found no dead bodies.

Moral to the story, if you pretend to kill someone, make sure that people in the area know it is just a joke.

Creepy

Well, in Cocoa Beach, Florida, they mean business when it comes to the Relay for Life. Teachers from the local high school posed partially nude in a calendar to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The school was trying to raise money for the Relay, and the teachers decided to do something "out of the box."

Students from the high school will see the calendar. Creepy. I think that the teachers meant well, and didn't see any harm in it, but personally I don't think it's appropriate for students to see a bunch of their teachers half naked in a calendar.

Once again, it's just plain creepy.

More stupid people

Well, once again Fark.com has led me to some lovely stories about stupid people. Apparently on someone's 21st birthday, six people are in the hospital due an explosion at a bonfire.

How did this happen, you ask? One of the guests threw two cans of paint thinner on the fire. Brilliant. One 17-year-old girl now has burns over 20 percent of her body. Ouch. Don't get me wrong, I do feel bad for them, it has to be extremely painful. At the same time, I have to question, who throws paint thinner on an open fire?

13-year-old kid gets tasered

In Lakeland, a 13-year-old girl was tasered at her middle school for not cooperating. What? A 13-year-old is required to not cooperate. It's what teenagers are best at. She had been called to the office and would not sit and wait so the school officer proceeded to taser her?

Really, what are our school system's coming to when a kid gets tasered for not obeying rules. I can understand if she were threatening to kill someone, or had a weapon, or was even a danger to herself, but for only disobeying a few requests by a teacher, I don't think that deserves a taser.

Holy Cow

In Rapid City, a man was in a fast food drive-through and shot himself in the leg! Oh my God!
First of all, why would you be carrying a pistol while going to a fast food restaurant. What an idiot. You're in South Dakota; you don't usually have to worry about getting in a gang fight where you need a hand gun at all times.

The 24-year-old was "trying to clear the gun" when it went off and shot him in the leg. I have never been hunting, and I didn't grow up around guns, but I do know that one of the major rules is to not pull the trigger when the gun as pointed at you. In general, I think it is a bad idea. Idiot.

Am I being punk'd?

So in Pontiac, Mich., Karen and Anthony Scully recently fought over something interesting in divorce court. Dog sperm. That's right, the couple is fighting over who gets their prized dogs' sperm. The owners split up their dogs, but they have frozen sperm that they are fighting over as well.

Judge Cheryl Matthews literally said, "Am I being punk'd?" It's a legitimate question to ask in the situation. Who does that? It's a dog; yes I understand that it is very valuable, blah, blah, blah. In the end ... it's just a stupid dog.
